Camden Matthews is giving Alabama State a proven strike-throwing, late-inning arm
In the 2026 season, Camden Matthews has been a high-leverage weapon for Alabama State, posting a 4.08 ERA across 57.1 innings with 48 strikeouts and a 3-0 record, while also flashing bat-missing stuff in outings like his 7-strikeout performance against Longwood and 6 strikeouts in 3.1 scoreless innings at Alabama[12][7][10]. His calling card is experience: after two productive seasons at Miles College and a 2026 role that has included both starts and relief, he brings versatility, composure, and a proven track record of handling pressure[1][3]. At 6'3", 200 lbs, the right-hander looks like a fit for teams wanting a durable, competitive arm who can attack hitters and cover innings without needing the spotlight[1][12].
