Clayton McCarrell brings early pass-rush pop and a fast-rising frame to Eastern Washington
McCarrell is a promising Eastern Washington defensive lineman who flashed real disruption in 2025, including a pair of sacks and three total tackles in the Eagles’ first scrimmage, after appearing in three games that season and four as a freshman in 2024. At 6-foot-3 and 273 pounds in 2026, he has added size to his original 230-pound recruit frame, suggesting room to keep growing into a sturdier edge-to-interior defender. His appeal is upside: early production, a work-in-progress body, and a reputation as a high-effort, productive prep defender who piled up 72 tackles and 20 tackles for loss as a senior.
