Niagara’s towering freshman arm is already getting real innings
Reuben Malamed is a 6-foot-8 right-handed pitcher whose size alone makes him hard to ignore, and Niagara has already used him in both relief and starts in the 2026 season. He flashed swing-and-miss ability early, including a sharp first inning against Rider and a six-strikeout performance across a relief outing at Canisius, but he’s also still ironing out command, with a few shorter starts and walk-heavy outings showing the normal freshman growing pains. The upside is obvious: big frame, starter’s look, and real bat-missing potential.
