veteran stretch big with brains, touch, and board work
Groves is a skilled 6-foot-10 frontcourt veteran whose game translates because he can score inside, stretch the floor, and rebound with consistent effort. In the 2021-22 season at Oklahoma, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and shot 38.1% from three; in 2022-23, he improved to 7.2 rebounds per game and added 1.1 blocks, showing real two-way usefulness. Beyond the box score, his biggest differentiators are basketball IQ, polished post footwork, academic/workmanlike reputation, and steady veteran presence. He’s a fit for teams needing a smart, low-drama big who can make winning plays.
