Mariano Birdno is a big-bodied, versatile TE on the rise for St. Thomas
Birdno is a 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end who showed real growth in 2025, logging 5 catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in only 4 games, after appearing in 8 games as a freshman in 2024. He brings size, red-zone value, and sneaky versatility — he’s also been used on kick returns, which says something about his athleticism and trust level. The intriguing part: he came out of high school as a blocking-first tight end with strong academics and multi-sport toughness, so he looks like the kind of player who can help a team in multiple ways, not just as a pass-catcher.
