Aidan Hayse is a high-upside Mercer arm with electric stuff and serious breakout buzz
In 2026, Aidan Hayse entered Mercer as a redshirt freshman transfer after sitting out his first season at Tennessee, and Mercer/Pefect Game pegs him as the SoCon Preseason Freshman of the Year. The big draw is the arm talent: Mercer coach Gibson called him “electric,” praised his “tremendous stuff,” and said the consistency could make him one of the best pitchers in the country. He was ranked No. 3 among Illinois high-school right-handers, so if you want a raw-but-real upside play, this is your guy.
