Gaelen Kelly brings contact bat, reliable glove, and veteran poise to UAlbany
Gaelen Kelly fits the profile of a steady, defense-first catcher with real value beyond the box score: UAlbany lists her as a left-handed catcher who appeared in 12 games with eight starts as a freshman in 2024 and then played in 55 games with 48 starts in 2025, adding 14 hits, four RBI, and two runs while earning Academic All-Big Ten honors. Her background includes Big Ten Scholar recognition at Rutgers and strong high school production, and her fielding value showed up in UAlbany’s 2026 stats with a team-high 13 putouts in a game category, signaling dependable receiving and game-management upside.
