LSU freshman William Patrick brings elite speed, high-end recruiting pedigree, and upside in center field
Patrick entered LSU as one of the nation’s top freshman outfielders and a former MLB Draft prospect, and his calling card is loud tools: explosive speed, impact baserunning, and enough bat-to-ball skill to post a .472 senior average with a .607 OBP and 27 steals at St. Frederick in 2025. He also flashed in summer ball at Healdsburg, hitting .333 in early action, which supports the view that he can develop into a real center-field fit. The swing skill is whether his hit tool keeps maturing against SEC pitching.
