Tyra Kennedy brings steady backcourt grit to Hampton
Tyra Kennedy is a 5-foot-7 junior guard for Hampton who has already earned team recognition, including Freshman of the Year in 2024, and profiles as a steady, defense-minded backcourt piece with a quick trigger from deep.[1][8] In the 2024-25 season, she averaged 3.3 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.9 assists while shooting 30.4% from three and 78.6% at the line, so her value is less about volume scoring and more about pace control, toughness, and complementary guard play.[8][13] If your team needs a scrappy, competitive connector who can defend, keep possessions alive, and avoid glaring holes, she’s a legit fit.
