Jose Alfonso brings contact-first spark and versatile infield value for Alabama State
In the 2026 season, Jose Alfonso has been a useful table-setter for Alabama State, hitting .192 with 10 hits, 12 runs, 4 RBIs and a few timely extra-base flashes, including a double against Alabama and an RBI double at UAB. His value goes beyond the stat line: the 5'8", right-handed infielder has shown willingness to do the little things, including bunting for a sacrifice and delivering clutch contact in run-scoring spots. He looks like a gritty depth piece with situational usefulness and hustle, though the bat needs more consistency if a team wants him to be an everyday force.
