Drew Smith brings a pro-sized, power-arm profile to UConn’s bullpen
In the 2026 season, UConn right-hander Drew Smith has been a useful relief arm, appearing in eight games and throwing 6.2 innings with five strikeouts, including scoreless outings in his debut at Arizona State, at Boston College, and at Georgetown[1]. At 6-foot-3 and 231 pounds, he has the frame and “power arm” reputation that evaluators like for bullpen projection, and his four-sport high school background suggests a tough, competitive edge[1][13]. He looks like a fit for a staff that wants low-drama innings and upside, not just box-score noise[1].
