Massive, versatile rookie tackle with real upside for Montana
Owen Liechti enters 2026 as a redshirt freshman OL at Montana, listed at 6-foot-7 and 285 pounds, with the kind of frame scouts love to bet on[2][4]. In high school, he earned all-district honors, allowed zero sacks in his senior season, and played basketball too—nice clues that he has coordination and competitiveness, not just size[2][12]. The big differentiator: he’s still filling out and developing, so the Griz are getting a tall, physical project with legitimate long-term starter potential if his pad level and strength catch up to his length[13].
