Lewis Obiorah brings rare rim protection and fast-rising upside to Texas
Obiorah is a 7-foot-1 freshman center whose best calling card is shot-blocking: he averaged 3.7 blocks per game for Barking Abbey in 2024-25 and earned EABL finals MVP honors, then followed that by posting 5.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and a team-best 1.7 blocks per game for Great Britain at the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket Division B tournament. Texas also notes that he has only played competitive basketball since October 2022, which makes his development curve unusually steep and his long-term ceiling intriguing for a team that values size, activity and defensive disruption.[4][9][11]
