Mercyhurst INF Zach Black Brings Versatile, Contact-Driven Upside
Black is a 5-foot-9 sophomore infielder at Mercyhurst whose profile points to a compact, athletic game built around bat-to-ball ability, solid pop, and enough speed to stay useful in multiple roles; Prep Baseball logged a 93.3 mph max exit velocity and a 7.41 60-yard dash in his prep data, while Mercyhurst lists him as a sophomore from Serra Catholic. [1][4] The fit question is less about star-level tools and more about reliability: he looks like a competitive, low-frills piece who can help a staff with effort, versatility, and upside if you value instincts and consistency over pure size.
