Laken Powe brings size, interior rebound value, and proven scoring touch from high school to JWU Charlotte
Powe is a 5'10" forward for Johnson & Wales (NC) who arrives with a clear paint-first profile: at Hickory High in the 2022-23 season, she averaged 10.7 points over 26 games and was ranked in the top 51 in Division 3A West and top 9 in her conference for at least one stat. JWU’s current roster lists her as a sophomore forward, but no 2025-26 or 2026-27 season stats are available yet, so the best read is that she offers size, rebounding-oriented utility, and a dependable inside presence rather than a flashy volume-scoring profile.[1][2][4]
