Alabama State’s late-inning righty with a proven closing touch
In the 2026 season, Zane Baltz has emerged as a useful bullpen weapon for Alabama State, picking up his third save on April 25 and earning a relief win on March 15. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound RHP brings size, strike-throwing experience, and a “finish the job” mindset; in 2024 at Los Medanos College, he posted a 0.00 ERA over 13 relief outings with 16 strikeouts and just a .156 opponent average. The big question is consistency, but his ability to handle pressure late makes him a sensible fit for teams wanting a sturdy, competitive reliever.
