UMaine Black Bears Pitcher with Elite 1.84 ERA and .164 BA Against in 2025
Tommy Martin is a standout pitcher for the Maine Black Bears who dominated the 2025 season with the team's lowest ERA (1.84) and batting average against (.164), earning weekly conference honors alongside teammate Caleb Leys. His differentiators include an intensity level that translates to exceptional control—only 13 walks in 25 innings in 2024, improving to elite suppression in 2025—and a personality marked by quiet reliability under pressure. Unlike many pitchers who rely solely on velocity, Martin's differentiator is his developing pitch mix and ability to keep hitters off-balance, evidenced by his 28 strikeouts in 2024 and continued growth. He has no significant injury history, making him a durable fit for any team seeking a high-intensity, low-ERA starter who can consistently suppress opposing lineups.
