Dylan Weekly brings raw upside, but New Mexico State still wants cleaner command
Weekly is a right-handed arm with developmental upside, and his 2025 New Mexico State line shows a young pitcher still learning to miss bats consistently: 21 strikeouts against 19 walks in 22.2 innings with a 7.15 ERA. Recruiting-era evaluations described him as a player with “a lot still to tap into developmentally” who performed at a very high level during Queen Creek’s title run, which hints at usable competitiveness and growth potential. He fits a team that values projection and arm talent, but not one looking for an immediate polished starter.
