Ben Weber is Virginia Tech’s low-walk innings-eater with a crafty, contact-manager profile
In the 2026 season, Ben Weber stood out more for efficiency than flash: he was praised as a unique arm who rarely issues walks, works to soft contact, and fits best as a steady bridge rather than a pure strikeout weapon. He opened the year with a win in his first start and then battled a midseason injury that ended his Hokies run, so the biggest question is durability. If a staff wants a mature right-hander who keeps the game organized and doesn’t beat himself, Weber is a sensible fit.
