Connor Lane brings impact bat, catcher pedigree, and real Big East production to UConn
Lane is a power-producing, right-handed catcher who hit .280 with 6 home runs, 11 doubles, and 34 RBIs in 2025 for UConn, giving the Huskies a middle-of-the-order threat with proven run production. He arrived with a strong prep resume as a top Connecticut prospect and Gatorade Player of the Year, and evaluators liked his projectable 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame and above-average bat speed. His biggest differentiator is toughness: after a serious chest-area blood clot and surgery in 2025, he returned and was described by his coach as a leader with improving arm strength, which boosts his fit as a grinder who can add value beyond the box score.
