SIUE RHP Tyler Powell brings upper-80s heat and strike-throwing upside
Powell, a 2025 SIUE commit from Edwardsville HS, stands out as a power right-hander with a fastball that has been tracked at 87-89 mph and a peak of 90, plus a usable slider in the upper 70s; Prep Baseball Report also noted strong recent outing lines, including seven strikeouts in three scoreless innings and a no-hit start. His profile suggests a pitcher whose appeal goes beyond raw stuff: he’s competitive, hard to square up, and has shown two-way value at the high-school level, which makes him a solid fit for a staff looking for strike-throwing upside and starter traits.
