Jaren Vogt gives SDSU a gritty two-way option with pop and versatility
In the 2026 season, freshman Jaren Vogt has been a true utility arm for South Dakota State, splitting time between the field and the mound and showing real two-way value. He hit the Jackrabbits’ first home run of the season at UTSA and posted a .214 average with a .429 slugging percentage, while also making six pitching appearances and starting three games on the mound. The appeal is the flexibility: he can help at multiple spots, plays with edge, and brings legit Minnesota prep pedigree as a former all-state standout and Mr. Baseball finalist.
