Drake Meeks brings live arm upside to Southern Miss — and some real buzz
In the 2026 season, Southern Miss right-hander Drake Meeks flashed intriguing strikeout ability and velocity, with one report noting his first collegiate start included two strikeouts in his first three batters and a fastball touching 96 mph[5][15]. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound redshirt sophomore profiles as a power arm with size and ceiling, though his 2026 numbers were uneven and he finished the year with a 7.94 ERA across seven appearances, so the fit is best for a team betting on stuff and development rather than immediate polish[3][1].
