Andrew Garnett gives Mercer a veteran late-inning weapon with command and bite
In the 2026 season, Mercer senior RHP Andrew Garnett emerged as one of the Bears’ most efficient relievers, earning All-SoCon Second Team honors after posting a 3.37 ERA in conference play across six appearances and finishing with a strong 25-to-10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 2025. Mercer’s staff praises his fastball command and quality slider, and he’s been used in pressure spots as a middle-innings bridge and occasional finisher. The fit is simple: if you want a tough, repeatable strike-thrower with closing experience and no nonsense, Garnett checks the box.
