James Heller brings projectable stuff and immediate swing-and-miss upside to Dayton's rotation
Heller looks like a **projectable right-hander** with a real starter’s foundation: Dayton lists him at 6'3" and his college debut featured **19 strikeouts in 24.2 innings**, a strong sign of bat-missing ability.[7][2] His background includes a **three-pitch mix**—fastball, curveball and changeup—and he arrives with decorated high school pedigree, including **Liberty League Cy Young Awards in 2022 and 2023** and **Liberty League MVP in 2023 and 2024**.[5][1] In short, he’s a fit if you want upside, strike-throwing potential and a pitcher who already knows how to dominate when his stuff is on.[7][1]
