High-upside lefty with swing-and-miss stuff, but still ironing out command
In the 2026 season, Jackson State’s Trae Burton has shown real left-handed upside: he struck out 41 batters in 42.1 innings, and multiple game reports note outings with punchouts and length out of the bullpen. The catch is command, not stuff—his early-season line included walks and a few rough starts, so he looks more like a talented arm still learning consistency than a finished product. If your team wants a competitive, high-motor LHP with bat-missing potential and room to grow, he’s interesting; if you need instant precision, patience is required.
