Xavier RHP Joey Young brings strikeout stuff, but his 2026 results have been volatile
Joey Young is a right-handed pitcher for Xavier whose best selling point is swing-and-miss ability: in 2026 he has 21 strikeouts in 13.0 innings, even though his ERA sits at 10.38. He’s a transfer from Black Hawk, where he posted a 1.11 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 24.1 innings in 2025, so the upside is real if Xavier can smooth out the command and consistency. At 6-0, 185, he profiles as a competitive, attack-the-zone arm who can help if your staff wants strikeout potential over polish.
