Isaiah Afework brings power, speed, and run production to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
Afework is a 6'5" right-handed corner outfielder who stood out in 2026 by hitting .327 with a .980 OPS, five homers, and four triples in 31 games despite missing time to injury, while also showing impact defense and enough athleticism to profile as a high-upside lineup fit. He led the Islanders in home runs and triples, earned all-academic recognition, and has been praised for elite defense and speed, giving him value beyond the box score as a disciplined, versatile, high-motor player.
