FIU catcher Alex Garcia brings steady, defense-first value behind the plate
Alex Garcia is a junior catcher for Florida International in the 2026 season, and FIU lists him at 6'0", 200 pounds—built more like a backstop than a table setter[1][2]. The best fit here is a catcher who can stabilize the battery with durability and game-management skills rather than flash: FIU’s roster and stats pages show him in the catcher mix for 2026, while public statistical detail is limited, so the real appeal is his role profile—physical presence, pitcher handling, and defensive reliability[1][2]. If your team wants a gritty, steady catcher who can wear the gear and keep the staff calm, that’s the lane[1][2].
