Derrick Shepard Jr. gives Tulane a stout, experienced anchor on the interior
In the 2025 season, Derrick Shepard Jr. gave Tulane a durable interior presence at 6-foot-3, 313 pounds, appearing in all 14 games with two starts and finishing with 6 tackles, while his 2024 season at UAB included 34 tackles and a reputation as a leader on the defensive line. He fits best as a physical, veteran plugger who helps stabilize the middle, brings transfer experience from Cincinnati and UAB, and adds mature depth to a Tulane front that needed reinforcements.
