Parker McDaniels brings defensive value and sneaky summer-ball production for Cincinnati
McDaniels is the kind of catcher coaches trust: in the 2025 season he appeared in 10 games for Cincinnati, and in summer ball he posted 17 RBI, 15 stolen bases and 26 walks in 31 games, showing a rare mix of patience, athleticism and hustle for a backstop. Cincinnati’s 2026 preview said he was doing a great job defensively and would play a lot, even if his bat was still developing. Why care? He looks like a high-energy, defense-first catcher with real versatility and enough on-base juice to fit a roster that values toughness and run prevention.
