James Love has been a do-it-all bat for Eastern Illinois, with real middle-of-the-order juice
In the 2026 season, James Love emerged as one of Eastern Illinois’ most dangerous hitters, batting .309 with 8 home runs, 18 doubles, 45 RBI, a .975 OPS, and a 44-game on-base streak that ranked among the nation’s best at the time. He brings a strong, physical right-handed profile, earned second-team All-OVC honors at utility, and has shown versatility across the infield plus DH. Add in a productive summer (.381 with nine doubles and 27 RBI), and you’ve got a hitter whose consistency and toughness make him a very attractive fit.
