Garret Garbinski brings strike-throwing upside and late-inning bite to UConn’s staff
Garbinski looks like a useful right-handed arm for UConn because he has already shown swing-and-miss ability and poise in leverage, including a 2025 Manhattan/UConn bio line of 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA, six saves, 24 innings, and 27 strikeouts, plus a Futures League outing with 5.1 no-hit innings and 5 strikeouts for New Britain.[5][6][1] His differentiators are feel for the zone, experience in both starting and relief roles, and enough velocity to project as a competitive bullpen piece, with pre-college reports listing him at up to 83 mph and later 87 mph.[3][9]
