Lucas Foley is a polished lefty with strike-throwing upside at Illinois State
In the 2026 season, Lucas Foley has been one of Illinois State’s steadier arms, sitting at 1.19 ERA with a 5-0 record and 25 strikeouts, showing the kind of mound efficiency coaches love. The 6-foot-3 left-hander brings real pedigree too: he was a high-school workhorse, with reports of a 1.10 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 51 innings during his senior year, and he’s already flashed the ability to pitch in leverage after a rougher but instructive 2024-25 stretch at Valparaiso. Why care? He looks like a competitive, durable starter or high-leverage reliever who can miss bats, limit damage, and keep improving.
