Furman freshman WR Vernon Stephens brings size, pedigree, and early upside
Vernon Stephens enters Furman in the 2026 season as a 6-0, 205-pound true freshman with a productive Nease High School résumé: 797 career receiving yards and 9 touchdowns, including 26 catches for 450 yards and 3 TDs as a senior in 2025. He stands out for his sturdy build for a young receiver, red-zone scoring punch, and the kind of family-athlete background that often shows up in competitive edge and polish. The Paladins are clearly betting on his development, and he looks like a strong fit for a system that can grow with him.
