Zach Newkirk

Zach Newkirk’s value was his steady, low-mistake guard play and academic backbone

Zach Newkirk has been a reliable Central Connecticut State guard whose game was built on steadiness, ball security, and efficient role-play rather than flash; in his CCSU career he averaged 4.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists over 70 games, with a 35.6% field-goal mark and 75.6% from the line, while also earning major conference academic honors. The why-you-care factor is simple: he brought maturity, leadership, and consistency, making him the kind of team-fit player coaches trust when they want structure, intelligence, and no-drama minutes.
