Freshman two-way depth piece with local upside for St. John’s
Nick Gilpin is a 2026 freshman INF/RHP from Nyack, N.Y., and Don Bosco Prep who gives St. John’s a versatile right-handed option on both sides of the ball. In the 2026 season, his published stat line shows limited offensive production, but he has already appeared as a pitcher and logged a 4.0-inning outing with 2 strikeouts and no walks against Hofstra, hinting at usable mound value. What makes him interesting is the two-way flexibility, local pedigree, and development runway. He looks like a fit for a staff that values athletic, adaptable players who can grow into bigger roles.
