In the 2025 season, Mason Woods redshirted at Iowa and did not see game action, so the story right now is projection more than production.[1] The appealing part: he’s a 6-foot-2, 230-pound hometown Hawkeye with multi-position high school experience, strong in-state pedigree, and a versatile athletic background that should fit Iowa’s physical tight end room.[1][4] He was a three-star recruit and ranked among Iowa’s top in-state prospects in the 2025 class, but with established tight ends ahead of him, the path to snaps is crowded.[4][13]
