Shimmin brings veteran righty depth, but 2026 results have been rough
Joshua Shimmin is a senior right-hander for Lamar in 2026, offering experienced bullpen depth at 5'10", 200 pounds, but the on-field results have been uneven: Lamar’s 2026 stat line lists him at 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA over 7.1 innings, 11 hits and 8 walks allowed, while game logs show multiple tough outings against high-level opponents. The upside is arm-side toughness and a proven willingness to take the ball, but the current profile says command and run prevention are the swing skills—more “try to stabilize the innings” than instant shutdown weapon.
