Don Carey brings veteran shot-making and steady guard play to Maryland
Carey is a dependable, high-IQ guard whose value goes beyond scoring: in Maryland’s recent season, he averaged 7.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 39 assists while leading the team with 57 made threes and adding 18 steals, and ESPN lists him at 8.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game with a 39.6% field-goal rate.[6][2] His differentiators are spacing, toughness, and experience across multiple programs, which make him a useful plug-in fit for teams that need a mature backcourt presence rather than a pure volume scorer.[6][7]
