Ava Gusel gives DePaul a versatile left-handed arm and a scrappy spark
In the 2026 season, DePaul’s Ava Gusel has been used as a flexible piece in the circle and as a pinch-running threat, with six appearances, two starts, and one strikeout while also scoring six runs as a runner. A former high-upside prep pitcher, she brings left-handed value, competitive edge, and roster flexibility rather than gaudy counting stats. Her profile suggests a team-friendly, do-everything mentality: useful in matchups, willing to fill multiple roles, and still developing as a collegiate pitcher.
