Alan Williams turned UC Santa Barbara into a paint-punishing, board-owning problem: in his UCSB career, he finished as the Gauchos’ all-time rebounding leader with 1,125 rebounds and was a three-time First Team All-Big West selection, including Big West Player of the Year in the 2013-14 season. He also led the NCAA in rebounding as a junior and senior, pairing muscle, motor, and nightmarish second-chance creation with elite interior defense; at his peak, he was the kind of frontcourt anchor who changes your team’s identity, not just your box score.
