Josh Hyneman brings size, velocity upside, and a bullpen weapon profile to SIU
In the 2026 season, Southern Illinois RHP Josh Hyneman has worked in 13 appearances with a 10.69 ERA over 16.0 innings and 12 strikeouts, so the raw results have been uneven—but the 6-foot-4, 245-pound right-hander still offers a durable, power-built frame and a proven transfer pedigree from Arkansas and Crowder College. He looks like a high-variance arm: if you want a big-bodied reliever with strikeout traits and development upside, he’s interesting; if you need instant command precision, he’s still a work in progress.
