Kassoum Yakwe brings UConn a rugged, rim-protecting frontcourt presence
Yakwe is a defense-first forward whose value comes from activity, shot blocking, and efficient finishing rather than scoring volume; in his UConn career he has played 83 games with 49 starts, averaging 4.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 44.3% shooting. He fits best as an energy big who can alter shots, rebound, and quietly tilt possessions without needing touches, which is exactly the kind of glue piece coaches love. If you want a dependable interior defender with length and a high-intensity motor, he is a strong fit.
