EKU's Large-Frame LHP with Elite High-Waist Mechanics and 2025 Redemption
Bradley Gagen, a 6-2, 184-lb left-handed pitcher for Eastern Kentucky, stands out for his large, athletic frame featuring a high waist and broad shoulders that generate consistent power and a deceptive release point. After a rough 2024 season (6.86 ERA), he showed intense redemption in 2025, leveraging his natural intensity and a personality that thrives under pressure to become a reliable starter. His differentiator isn't just stats but his physical maturity and mental grit, making him a high-upside fit for teams needing a lefty with pro-ready mechanics and a 'never-out' mentality. With no reported injury history and a track record of 74 strikeouts in 51 2/3 innings as a high school senior, Gagen offers the intensity and frame scouts love for long-term development.
