Versatile 6-4 Guard Still Trying to Carve Out a Bigger Southern Miss Role
In the 2025-26 season, Cowherd has been a low-usage, defense-first guard for Southern Miss, averaging 1.3 points and 1.3 steals in limited minutes, with advanced metrics showing a tough shot profile but real disruptive instincts on the perimeter. He’s best known for his length, size, and ability to generate steals, and earlier stops at Ole Miss showed flashes of defense and secondary playmaking. If you need an energy guard who can pressure the ball and compete physically, he fits; if you need a proven scoring creator, the production is not there yet.
