UT Martin Junior RHP Battling Through Rough 2026 with Strikeout Promise
UT Martin junior Silas Jones, a 6'2", 210-lb right-hander from Grace Christian Academy (top-1000 national recruit in 2023 per Perfect Game), owns a challenging 9.00 ERA and 0-1 record in 2026 with 5 strikeouts, including a tough 1.1 IP relief stint vs. Little Rock on 5/8 where he allowed 2 runs; splits show better control vs. lefties (3.70 ERA on 35 batters) but struggles vs. righties (7.53 ERA). His high school pedigree and prior D3 dominance (5.40 ERA, 11-K gem at Southwestern in 2025) highlight raw power and durability—watch for breakout potential if command sharpens, making him a high-upside bullpen fit for teams seeking projectable arms.
