Ziare Wells brings scoring punch and two-way edge to Oakland's backcourt
Wells is a 6-4 guard whose appeal is his blend of shot creation, efficiency, and activity on the glass and in passing lanes; in 2024-25 at Lenoir-Rhyne, he led the team with 17.4 points per game while also averaging 5.8 rebounds, 62 assists and 45 steals, and he has already shown he can erupt for big nights like 30 points on 14-of-18 shooting and 23 points in an Oakland win over Cleveland State. He looks like a tough, high-motor fit for a team needing a perimeter scorer who can impact winning beyond just points.
