Cal Barna brings upper-90s heat and swing-and-miss upside to UNLV
Cal Barna is a big, right-handed relief arm for UNLV whose calling card is velocity — his profile notes a fastball that can touch 98 mph — but the 2026 season also shows the classic power-pitcher tradeoff: only 2.0 innings listed in UNLV’s cumulative stats and a high-traffic outing that included walks and run-scoring wild pitches. In the 2026 season, he looks like a high-variance bullpen piece: exciting if your staff needs arm strength and late-inning ceiling, but best fit for a team that can sharpen command and keep the intensity pointed downhill.
