Cayden Suchy has become UConn’s high-end lefty ace with strikeout stuff and deep-start reliability
Suchy is UConn’s breakout **left-handed ace**, and in the 2026 season he paired swing-and-miss stuff with real workhorse traits: he went 3-1 in BIG EAST play with a 1.12 ERA, 32 strikeouts and just one walk over 24.0 innings, capped by a complete-game, 11-K gem against Butler. He was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year after a dominant overall campaign, and his value goes beyond the stat line: he attacks hitters, works deep into games, and showed he can bounce back from the elbow injury that shortened his 2025 season.
